Front-End Web Developer

This person in this role will be responsible for the rendering of web pages, forms, and emails in accordance with best practices of front-end markup. To do so, this person must be proficient in HTML and CSS and possess a good understanding of the separation between using html for data and using CSS for adjusting its rendering and appearance.
In addition to front-end markup, this role requires an understanding of best-practices and research in web usability. This will include form design, email design, and browser/os compatibility. We are also expecting this role to take on greater responsibility and skills to grow into a Front-End and Back-End Developer.
The role of this position will be:
- Report directly to the Development Team Leader
- Develop pages in HTML/CSS using designs from our designers
- Optimize images for the web and perform simple production
- Occasional interaction directly with the client for simple matters
- Developing html pages for email and blasting out to a user list
Requirements:
- Formal training in web and interactive development
- Ability to multi-task and work quickly
- Good self-learner
- Experience in developing web sites and web pages in HTML and CSS(without WYSIWYG applications such as Frontpage or Dreamweaver)
- Familiarity with programming languages such as ASP, PHP, VB.NET and JavaScript
- Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop
Past experience working within a web development team or design studio a plus.
