When you visit Silverscape, you just can’t miss the Goldfish Collections. The goldfish range in size from 3 inches to over 12 inches long. It started with a few and the collection has grown. We keep Goldfish because they are enchanting little works of art.
Their grace, color and movement inspire us. The office has 2 large aquariums of Hamanashiki, Oranda, Lion Head, Ranchu, Pom Pom, Demekin and Veiltail Goldfish. The goldfish are comical, soothing and a very beautiful element of the studio atmosphere.
Goldfish are not always orange. Some of the most beautiful goldfish are black. Pictured left is Puppy, a black LionHead, that weighed nearly 1 pound when he arrived at Silverscape.
The Silverscape goldfish are cared for by Dr. Tracey Ritzman, an exotic fish and marine specialist who practices at the New England Aquarium and Angell Memorial Hospital.
Goldfish require 3% of their body weight in food daily. (But they are lucky if someone remembers to feed them.)Goldfish have approximately 3 second memories but they do understand who the food giver is! |
