Max Glantzman is an expert at balancing user-centered design, aesthetics, and technical requirements for websites and web-based applications. Design, user experience, web development, coding, AJAX, cold fusion, HTML, web design, applications
Max is a mixmaster. And whether he’s working with lyrics and melodies in a rock band or the visual design, technical requirements and user experience of a website or application, he has the rare ability to strike precisely the right chord for the situation at hand. “Sometimes, form and function can have competing interests. A big part of my job involves finding ways to marry the two without sacrificing either. For example, a project search on an architecture firm’s website doesn’t sound all that exciting, but it can be if it’s designed well and the experience offers instant feedback to the user. I feel we’re successful when the task of filling out a 10-page form doesn’t feel like an uphill battle to the user.”
Max began using computers at the age of 8. At his first job, he created websites for physicists at Brookhaven National Laboratory. Since then, he’s been a web developer for NorthFork Internet, Brandeis University, and JuiceBox Design. At Silverscape, he writes technical specifications for projects, and develops primarily in ColdFusion, HTML and Ajax while leading the web development team.
He double majored in politics and history at Brandeis University. Outside of the office, Max is an avid musician and cyclist. He was until just recently the lead vocalist and songwriter for a rock band that played clubs across New England for several years. And despite Boston’s frigid and snowy winters, he makes his daily commute to work atop two wheels. If not for his job with Silverscape, he says you’d probably find him out on the road at any given moment. He does, however, get in those longer epic-length rides on weekends.
